solid glass dome

Just washing some ponies and came across CD102 [040] in light aqua that has a solid glass dome. The pinhole ends at the wiregroove. Anyone else seen one like this and is there a different listing for it? Makes for a very heavy piece of glass :D

If it's a (F)Diamond/Bar(R)Diamond/Bar, then these solid domes crop up periodically. As well, these tend to have a certain percentage with milky swirls in them, as well as lots of milk. It's all lumped together in the (040) designation. Unfortunately, the solid dome does nothing financially, but lots of milk does. A buck or 2 for a regular aqua, but aqua w/noticeable milky swirls $20-30, and aqua w/heavy milk, $50-75. Invest in a mini maglite, take it to a show, you'll see a lot more than if you don't have one. I'll post a few pics later.

I have to disagree with you on 1 point Shawn. There are collectors who covet dome glass (Brian Riecker is one, there are others) and they will pay a premium to get it. If you have 2 insulators identical in every way except 1 has a regular pin hole, and 1 has solid dome glass, the "domer" will be the more desirable piece. The no-embossing Canadian 102 with sharp drips is often, if not always, found with plenty of dome glass

Hte 040's though the bar diamond's are not that rare with dome glass I They look great but monetarily maybe a couple times more value then a regular piece.
