new kind of pony?

Postby poorboy » Tue Aug 03, 2010 5:19 pm

I have been going through some of my glass doing a final wash to put on display and came across a pony style although the measurements are different. It is 2 1/8'' x3 5/8". It has a diamond on the front and rear skirts and what appears to be a teardrop on the dome. It is light blue in color. It is almost like a tall CD102 except the measurments that I found are different.
Anybody care to make a guess? .

Appears to be a btc blot out diamond pony hard to tell as picture is not taking straight on . Look above the diamond you should see a serious of circle blots or a raised blotted out letters for btc

That side of the pony is very rough as you can see a line in the photo. I looked at it through a magnifying glass and can't really make out any blot out marks. I may have to wait and see if i have another one to compare with it.
Would it still be classified as a CD102 even though the measurements are different?

It is definitely a CD102. Don't let the dimensions being a bit different fool you. A lot of the CD's vary in size depending on the maker, however the overall shape will stay the same.

Someone might be able to explain it a bit better than that, but that's the gist of it.

can you add a picture zoomed in on the diamond and just above the diamond from both sides. I can see 2 little bumps in your first picture which will be blot out embossing.

Boy you have a good eye. I looked at it again with a bright flourescent light and stronger magnifying glass and there are small blot outs. They sure aren't as obvious as all the others i have seen. So what about the teardrop on the dome, does that have any significance?

Is the teardrop raised, or 'into' the glass? Either way, I'd think it's just a moulding anomaly. It's a great looking feature on a nice coloured 102, though.
