mud help

Postby 369reid » Sun Aug 22, 2010 2:16 pm

Good Day all, found these two pieces when cleaning/sorting and wonder if any of you might know what they are. I think they came from different molds due to one having a dot on the inside top and the other is smooth. The glaze on the inside seems like it was applied with a brush? 4 1/2" at the widest.

Reid, do these have a lip on the inside? The top seems very much like the Globe lid, with the depression for the metal ball clamp. Might be fruit jar lids.

Hey, Reid!

Those certainly are porcelain fruit jar lids.
Don't be too quick to deem them worthless - some collectors with the jar to match may be desperate to find a lid! Try eBay, maybe?
All the best!
