"RYREX" CD 128 PYREX ERROR

Postby speleausmining » Sun Jan 08, 2012 2:33 pm

Picked these two up yesturday as part of a larger lot of insulators. I almost didnt look at the pyrex as they are common but I am sure glad I did turns out there was one embossed RYREX instead of PYREX. For the pic I highlighted the embossing with marker to make it show up better but this is not a faint R; its a strong as the rest of the embossing.

Betcha that one got passed over many times. I often wonder how many of these "not obvious" gems are still out there. I tend to ignore 128's completely, but might actually start looking at them. In the last couple of years I've started to carefully inspect all Dominion 154's I find. I now have 2 missing the dash in different shades of light green. Nice unlisted pieces to have, even if they may not fetch very much.

Theres probably alot that have been overlooked over the years. I am sure I have overlooked some in the past. After finding a couple of error Hemingrays by accident in my own collection I started looking at everything. This has been my best error find so far. Same lot also had a two tone Brookfield CD 101.
