Broken Double Thread Wanted

Postby Robin Plewes » Sat Nov 02, 2013 9:05 am

Hi All:
I have been contacted by Mark Kerr of PA., who is doing an insulator thread study/display and is in need of an example of double threading. He plans on cutting the insulator in half to show the threads in detail.
He has received some nice donations of some of the other threading styles, but is coming up empty with a double threaded example.
I have explained to him how much Canadian collectors value double threaded insulators, so the incentive to give 1/2 of it back to the original donor is not of much value in my mind. However, if someone has a badly damaged one that shows ( or could show ) a cross section of the thread, I'm sure he would be happy.
Mark is at:" KerrMA@Corning.com " , and yes, he works for the Corning Glass Co who made insulators. I understand this work he's doing is for the hobby though, not the Corning Co.
