Unidentifiable Beehive

Postby Bwormuth » Mon Jul 01, 2013 7:56 am

I have a strange problem. I just got what I think is an emerald green 145. I have the price guide by John and Carol Mcdougald. It isn't in the book. There is no name on either skirt. The only markings are on the dome with a backwards "2". Is there a chance this is a fake or the author left it out of the book?

Thanks, Jack! Is there a reason I couldn't find it in the book? The only color they had in there was light aqua.

I couldn't find any CREB, nor any embossing other than the backwards "2" on top. I did find an area that looked suspicious. It is most likely just a molding imperfection. Could it be an area where someone ground something out? I could only see one dot on the left side of the area. I have attached a photo. There is the mark on the crown of the insulator in the glare. Is there a chance you know the approximate value?

That's no CREB, looks just like a lightly embossed B 145.

The B embossing can be hard to spot and well worn sometimes, if it is indeed the [035] no name B the book lists 15-20, but with only light aqua listed it would infer that they are probably earlier Brookfield production and not the typical dark aquas like yours. Assuming it's a B, the value is minimal.

Thanks. What book are you using? By minimal, you mean 1-2 dollars, right?
