What qualifies as a "Canadian" insulator?

Postby Hemingray » Sat Oct 10, 2009 8:59 am

I'd like to know what people consider a "Canadian Insulator" ...

Is there a list of all Primary Embossings that you consider Canadian?

Any there any just CD specific Primary embossings you consider Canadian?

Is there some specific embossing indexes for a CD and Primary embossing that you consider Canadian? See CD 252 Cable [010] "Canadian Style"
We made up a list for Hemingray's and it's pretty complex. I don't think defining Canadian insulators will be as hard...

Anyone willing to take a stab?

Hi All:
I would go with insulators that were made in Canada. A second criteria would be made else where but just used in Canada. The wet process CPR/CNR/AER/TNORY white procelain beehives from Czechoslovakia come to mind.
As for a list .... big job. I've not heard of a modern list of Canadian insulators.
Good collecting ............. Robin

Lee,

Thanks! I do have a reason for asking... How many of you have the Price Guide Browser? I'm thinking of having an option (in addition to threaded and threadless) that will select CDs and Primary Embossings that just cover the Canadian insulators.

I have the Price Guide Browser - I used it to help me create the list above.

I would use the "Canadian only" option for sure.

I would be interested if there was an option to purchase the database only.

Hi Bill,

I've been using the price guide browser since it came out and find it indispensable. I even have it on my Blackberry which has come in really handy when I'm out and about without my computer or hardcopy guide.
It would be really useful having a direct link to Canadian only insulators. Let me know if you need a beta tester ;-)
