First threadless intact find!

G'day all.

Got together with the trainman today and did a hunt on a local line. I was hoping I'd be learning his tricks, but I managed a great find all by myself. At the first pole site I saw glass in the ground. I knew right off the bat by the skirt that it was a threadless insulator. I called Alan over to have a look, and he got some shots of me pulling it out. Without further adoo, I present this MTCO 742... I'm not sure about the colour on this one though, it's pretty close to being blue, but has that hemi-blue look. Any thoughts from the 742 experts?

Way to go Chris, they are still out there. I've found some pcs. of threadless on a local line late last fall and 1 piece of a threadless this spring. I'll maybe join you in the elite threadless digger ranks yet this spring. Are you going to the Perth shoe this year?

I would not consider myself a 742 expert, but as nobody else has chimed in yet, I would describe that colour as 'blue aqua'. From comparing your 2 photos, I am guessing that the window shot might be a tad underexposed and the insulator is not quite that dark? If I'm wrong about that, then maybe 'dark blue aqua'.

I would almost describe it as "Hemingray Blue" but I figure it's a variation of aqua.

Nice to see you back, Cliff!
